Professor Vincent Emery is the Senior Vice-President (Global Strategy and Engagement) with an additional role as Chair of Translational Virology within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Surrey. He was previously Pro-Provost and Professor of Virology at University College London. Vince started his scientific career as a biochemist but has been a virologist for the last 28 years. His current research aims to provide a holistic approach to understanding viral infections in immune compromised hosts, such as HIV-infected patients and transplant recipients. In the context of International development of Higher Education teaching and research, Vince currently leads the University of Surrey’s international strategy seeking to catalyse and expand international research networks, student and staff mobility and exploit transnational educational opportunities.
