  • Bio

My name is Rachel. I live in Blackburn in a flat on my own. l became a Shared Lives Ambassador for Shared Lives Plus in September 2015. Since then I have spoken up at lots of conferences, spoken up at the houses of parliament, learned how to be a researcher and worked with researchers from the university of Kent. I have also learned how to travel all around the country on my own.
When I am not being a Shared Lives Ambassador I am involved in lots of groups including Pathways in Accrington and the autism board in Blackburn where I set up a friendship group to help people who have autism to get out and about and not be isolated.
I am passionate about helping all people with learning disabilities, autism and Asperger’s to speak up and have their say. In my spare time I like to bake, knit sew and I am a big fan of Disney. By the way I have Asperger’s myself.
