Pathology forms a vital element cancer diagnostics but it is struggling to cope with the increasing demand and a diminishing workforce. Increasingly patients are waiting for 6-plus weeks for results, with at least 90% of cancer-testing biopsy specimens returning healthy/benign diagnoses.
Solas is being developed for gastrointestinal (GI) pathology and can identify healthy samples with high accuracy (99% specificity) within seconds.
