The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program® is a multilevel evidence-based system of parenting and family support strategies designed to prevent and treat behavioural, emotional and developmental problems in children.  It aims to help parents develop a safe, nurturing environment, promote positive, caring family relationships, and develop effective strategies for promoting children’s development. 

The programme has been developed, researched, and licensed by The University of Queensland, Australia. Triple UK have been responsible for supporting organisations to implement Triple P’s system of interventions for parents, families, and educators, across the UK and Republic of Ireland since 2002.

The Triple P system of more than 25 individual interventions is:

  • Flexible in age range, intensity of programme, delivery method and practitioner background
  • Evidence-based
  • Designed as a population-based health approach
  • Supported by clinically trialled and tested resources for practitioners
  • Implemented within a framework, the Triple P Implementation Framework
  • Supported by a communications strategy to encourage parents’ participation in services
  • Evaluated
  • Cost effective.

Ranked by the United Nations as the world’s most extensively researched family skills training programme, Triple P is backed by more than 40 years of ongoing research. Triple P parenting programmes are used in 30 countries around the world.
