  • Overview

The North must and can take control of levelling up if it is to achieve economic parity with the South. The economic and social prizes are huge. This practical based conference is about making this happen. It is for everyone - public, private, social enterprise sectors, politicians and academics - who want to see it happen, learn how it can be done and play a part in its success. The Northern Economic Summit will achieve this by bringing together key stakeholders and influential and expert speakers for a day of informative and practical presentations, sharing of ideas, initiatives, experiences and discussion. Delegates will play an active role and have opportunities to have their say and engage with speakers and influencers.

Delegates will also learn about new opportunities for Northern businesses and social enterprises, how to find out about them and how to win them. The potential benefits from the new Northern Government Commercial Hub will be explained as will the soon to be introduced approach in the NHS to delivering social value and new Defence contractor, sub-contractor and buildings construction opportunities. Delegates will also learn about new opportunities for Northern businesses and social enterprises, how to find out about them and how to win them. Delegates from public, private and social enterprise sectors will learn about the most effective ways to support businesses and social enterprises in their neighbourhoods, help them expand and create economic growth and social value.

Much support for business to grow is provided through Chambers of Commerce and the Growth Hubs. Delegates will hear about these opportunities and how to take advantage of them.

The final session of the conference will provide delegates with an opportunity to contribute to a high level plan to release the potential of public, private and social enterprise sectors to deliver economic and social parity with the South
