Catherine Tyack is the Department of Health lead for the Green Paper for Children and Young People's Mental Health. Prior to this role she was Head of Policy for the Model Hospital project, a digital product allowing hospitals to compare their productivity and efficiency, based firstly at the Department, and then at NHS Improvement. She first joined the Department of Health to head up the team running the strategic relationship between the department and NHS England. She has been a civil servant for sixteen years, largely in central government departments, with time also spent at the House of Commons running a select committee, and on secondment to a large charity. She is a trustee for her local women's centre, a medium-sized charity delivering a range of services.
