David is part of the Government Innovation team in Nesta’s Innovation Lab. He leads on the development of their city-based programmes, including CITIE (City Initiatives for Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship), that assessed over 50 global cities to to support city leaders to develop policy catalyse innovation and entrepreneurship.
David was a mentor for smart city of startups as part of the Cognicity Challenge, an initiative of the Canary Wharf Group to identify and accelerate the development of smart city technology products and services.
Previously David worked for the Government Innovation Agency, Innovate UK, where he led the development of a £35m Future City Demonstrator programme with cities in the UK.
David is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Chartered Engineer, and a Built Environment Expert to the Design Council’s Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment.
