Jamie Saddler is the Apprenticeships Adviser at the Local Government Association. As part of the workforce team, Jamie leads on the delivery of the LGA’s national apprenticeship programme, providing advice, support and guidance to help councils to develop their apprenticeship programmes and deliver more apprenticeship starts year on year.

Jamie joined the LGA from London Councils where he was a Principal Policy Officer leading on apprenticeships and skills. He is the author of ‘Bridging the Skills Gap’ the first major report from the All Party Parliamentary Group for London, which called for a radical overhaul of the skills system and full devolution of powers on post-16 skills provision to London government.

Prior to joining London Councils, Jamie spent eight years working in Parliament in a number of roles, including as Political Adviser to Local Government Minister Andrew Stunell and as Head of the Parliamentary Support Team where he was a senior adviser to the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Party on local government and housing.
