Lee Mair
  • Bio

Lee spent many years on Britain’s railways in various safety critical managerial positions. In 2004 he took the opportunity to leave this long term employment and managed a mental health charity on the Isle of Wight. Feeling he could do more he went to university at the age of 47 and trained to be a social worker. On graduating he worked in children’s services and later managed social work in forensic mental health units. He joined Focus CIC in 2015 as an Advanced Social Work Practitioner managing the Single Point of Access (SPA) and short term case management team.

Whilst at the SPA he became interested in the hospital discharge process as Adult Social Care were being awarded many days delays for actions beyond their control. The service users were experiencing poor outcomes and all the professionals appeared to be working in silos. At this point he was offered the opportunity to develop a new team and a new way of working which he embraced and has continued to develop with his colleagues inside and outside of Focus to the present day.
