Nicola Blackwood was first elected to Parliament in 2010 and re-elected in 2015, she is the Member for Oxford West & Abingdon. In the last Parliament Nicola served as a member of the influential Home Affairs Select Committee, and was Parliamentary Private Secretary for Matthew Hancock MP, Minister for Energy and Enterprise. Nicola was elected to Chair the Commons Science & Technology Select Committee by MPs from all parties from June 2015 to July 2016, and is now the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Public Health and Innovation at the Department for Health. Nicola is known for her national campaign against child exploitation, as well as fighting for science and research.
