  • Bio

Rob is a fellow at the Office for Public Management, an employee-owned research organisation and consultancy which works primarily with public services and charities. Rob’s  work focuses on supporting local authorities around service redesign, organisational development and community capacity-building. In 2012, Rob authored ‘Unlocking Local Capacity: why active citizens need active councils’, which explored the changing role of councils as enablers of individual and community empowerment. Since then, he has lead OPM’s associated work stream supporting councils and their partners to tap into the skills, ideas and energy in their communities to improve local outcomes. This has included supporting elected members as local leaders in Shropshire, supporting local projects nationwide through DCLG’s Our Place programme, and work in Devon as part of the Cabinet Office’s Delivering Differently programme. In his spare time he runs a community arts and heritage group.
