Simon is a clinical psychologist with considerable media experience. He has appeared on national television and radio and been quoted many times in the press. His long standing interest in the media led him to being appointed the first Media Liaison Officer for the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Clinical Psychology (DCP) - the national professional body for Clinical Psychologists. Simon was instrumental in providing media training for psychologists, and encouraging psychologists to work together with the media. He is particularly interested in the role of the media in disseminating psychological knowledge for the benefit of public health.
Simon now sits on the DCP national Executive Committee as the national treasurer and is a Research Fellow at Bradford University where he is linked with the Digital Health Enterprise Zone and the Psychology Centre
