RefuAid supports refugees in overcoming the barriers to rejoining their profession and continuing their careers in the UK. These three barriers are: finance & re-qualification, language tuition and specialist employment support. In March 2020, RefuAid launched its Placement Programme. The programme creates practical, sustainable employment pathways which allow refugee professionals to return to work commensurate with their skills and experience, whilst allowing the UK’s society and economy to benefit from this overlooked talentpool. Steve Duffy heads-up RefuAid’s Placement Programme - through collaborating with a range of NHS partners, he has helped design and deliver a range of innovative recruitment programmes for refugees in the NHS.
