Established in 1972, Southdown is one of the largest not-for-profit specialist providers of care, support and housing services in Sussex. It provides support to over 9,500 people to help them live their life to the full. Alongside specialist services for people with learning disabilities and those at risk of homelessness, Southdown provides a range of support for people with mental health support needs. Services provided include: Individual Placement and Support (IPS) employment support; recovery support centres; a recovery college; housing support; peer support; community links; social prescriptions within GPs surgeries, and a carers vocational service. Southdown’s mental health recovery services aim to maximise hope, independence and resilience so that people can manage their mental health and live fulfilling lives.
