Alistair is responsible for developing and overseeing the delivery of Monitor’s competition policy work programme. He joined Monitor from the NHS Cooperation and Competition Panel, a body set up to advise the Department of Health and Monitor on the application of the rules governing cooperation and competition in the commissioning and provision of NHS services in England. An economist by background, Alistair has advised on competition and regulatory issues across a range of sectors including healthcare, transport and retailing.
