I have worked in the NHS for a number of years and currently lead social work services across a number of different medical specialities. Our social work model at King’s is unique, we provide expertise that offers the knowledge, skills and values of social work as part of a conventional multi-disciplinary team. I co-ordinated family support functions during the pandemic and have publications relating to bereavement. I have recently completed my MBA with my research focused on staff support and how to mitigate the impact on individuals and organisations when considering the prevalence of work-related violence. Prior to my employment in the NHS I have led adult and children’s social work teams across the country. I have experience in international social work and have worked in Mumbai, Chicago and Copenhagen. I am commencing my PhD in September 2024 looking at the concept of leadership in Social Work and the formulation of professional standards aligned to regulatory practice and research.
