  • Overview

This workshop is aimed at managers and leaders who need to have great conversations with staff, want to help staff to develop, and enable them to take personal responsibility.

The main focus of the workshop is to help you have coaching conversations with staff, and therefore involves a number of practical sessions so you can practice your coaching skills.

It introduces coaching definitions, skills and frameworks; provides you with the tools to have coaching conversations with staff; the opportunity to practice your skills; gain feedback; and invites you to identify further practice opportunities for having coaching conversations to best effect with your team.

It will also include an opportunity to be coached by a fellow participant, so to get the most out of the workshop, you are invited to bring a ‘real life’ situation that you would like to explore / improve.

Examples of what previous participants have worked on include:

  • How to improve a working relationship
  • How to have a tricky conversation with a member of staff
  • How to manage work / life balance
  • How to say ‘no’

Ad Florem supports leaders within the public and private sector through coaching, mentoring, leadership development programmes and business consultancy. The delivery methods used in the workshop include both cognitive and behavioural. There will be a small amount of cognitive approaches to impart knowledge, share information and discuss topics in groups. However, most of the workshop will include behavioural approaches to enable individuals to practice the coaching skills during the workshop and create behavioural change.

Activities will include group work, coach practice, opportunity to be coached, observations, providing feedback, individual reflection time, and action planning.
