Aaron Porter is an education consultant working for a range of organisation in the higher education sector. Aaron has responsibility for sharing trends and insights across the global suite of websites to inform and support education providers in their marketing and recruitment plans. Before Advance HE, Aaron was President of the National Union of Students and has also served as a non-executive director on a number of sector bodies, including UCAS, the HE Academy and the Office of Independent Adjudicator. He has undertaken projects for over 30 universities, and also HEFCE and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).

Outside of higher education, he has also served on the board of Endsleigh Insurance. In 2014, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from the University of Leicester in recognition of his contribution to higher education and the student experience. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (RSA), a governor at All Saint’s School in Croydon, a qualified football referee and a keen supporter of Crystal Palace Football Club and Surrey County Cricket Club.
