Alan has worked with Children and Families over the past 33 years in a variety of practitioner; management and leadership roles within safeguarding; therapy; assessment; analysis; youth justice, fostering and adoption. Alan was also a specialist award winning foster carer alongside his partner and is currently the Director of Transformation within FosterTalk. Prior to this role, Alan has worked in the public; private and voluntary sector; including the NSPCC; British Association for Adoption and Fostering; and the Sexual Abuse Child Consultancy Service. Alan was expert witness to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse investigation into the Secure Estate in England. He has been awarded the title of Visiting Professor and the University of Chester and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Alan has been an advocate of relationship evidence-based practice throughout his whole career.
