Children and Young People's Mental Health: Improving Access to Effective Support

Ms Bev Crosby has extensive experience working with CLA and children who have been adopted. She is a qualified social worker with significant experience of managing emotional wellbeing and mental health projects. Bev was the practice manager for Lancashire Councils emotional health/wellbeing team for CLA and adopted children. This included managing monitoring and reporting frameworks and supervising a multidisciplinary team. In this role Ms Crosby was responsible for ensuring KPI were met. Bev previously set up her own practice specialising in attachment and trauma working systemically with young people and their primary caregivers.
Bev joined Meadows Psychology Service as strategic lead in 2023. Bev has supported the development and growth of the service, using her expertise in supporting areas such as adoption and fostering support and managing emotional health and wellbeing projects for local authorities. In 2023 Meadows Psychology Service were successful in tendering for the emotional health and wellbeing service for Wigan Local Authority and in 2024 we were successful in tendering for the Herefordshire Intensive Placement Support Service. Bev has oversight of both projects.
Her direct therapeutic practice involves using various therapeutic models based around attachment theory, through direct work with young people and carers or through a consultation model. Bev is trained in DDP (Levels 1 and 2), Solihull Approach, Solihull Approach for Fostering and Adoption, Theraplay (Levels 1 and 2), DBT foundation skills and Essentials, Diploma in Therapeutic Life Story Work.
