Dawn Makinson is the Senior Engagement Manager at Brain in Hand. She is an accomplished practitioner, a highly qualified specialist education consultant in neurodiversity, particularly autism and associated learning differences and disabilities. She has over 27 years’ experience in designing flexible responses to specific needs through working partnerships with other professionals. Her direct and indirect work with neurodivergent children, young people and adults, and practitioners also informs the design and delivery of bespoke accredited training and support packages in education and businesses.
Dawn is extremely committed and passionate about supporting people to find their own solutions by acknowledging and respecting them as individuals with strengths, needs and aspirations. This is the focus of her work at Brain in Hand, in education and the workplace including consultancy, mentoring higher education students, her role supporting students on teaching practice and working with families.
