I am a consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia. I worked through the height of the pandemic with my colleagues. We had to support each other during some very difficult times. I am also a ILM level 7 trained coach and mentor. The well-being of staff is extremely important to me as staff who feel well supported will work better and make less errors. I am the well-being lead for the department and work with several colleagues to provide peer support within the department. I also run a group to support colleagues after clinical incidents – so they feel heard and hopefully do not become second victims. In my free time I try hard to maintain my own well-being – “practice what you preach”
