Gillian Ashcroft is the owner of Exceptional Care and also Think Tank Academy.

Exceptional Care is a children’s residential company, our services are for children from the age of 8 to 17, who have emotional behavioural problems and have experienced neglect, abuse, child sexual and criminal exploitation.

Exceptional Care will have coming up to 13 services by April 2023 which all have support from our Clinical Therapeutic Team and hierarchy of Directors, Service Managers, Management, Deputies and so on and so fourth.

Think Tank Academy is one of the UK’s leading training academies in Health and Social Care in both the Adult and Children’s Care Sector.

It has a suite of 150 courses, e learning and virtual classroom, and we also offer traineeships, diplomas and apprenticeships from Level 2 right up to Level 7.

These can also cover business qualifications too and we have generic training courses for all different sectors.

We work in collaboration with a lot of charities and other organisations and we come highly recommended by some of the UK’s leading Universities, including Edge Hill University. We recently won two awards – ‘Best Social Care Training Specialists UK’ and ‘Skills for Growth Award’.

Gillian has been a business owner since the age of 17, has a Law degree and was the youngest Responsible Individual in Children’s Residential Care to date.

She has had an array of companies from public houses, restaurants, family entertainment centres, property companies, but she just didn’t feel like she was getting an outcome from the work she was doing so opening the children’s residential company, she felt like it made her complete and then she has just progressed from there.

Gillian has won many awards from the hard work that she has done and her main aim in life is to make change.

She has been asked to attend the House of Parliament in January, there she will be meeting MP’s and Policy Makers. This is what she wants to do in the future – Making change for every day people, with backgrounds similar to her upbringing.

She feels like, being a residential care provider, she knows what change needs to happen as she sees it day in day out, the failures that are in the present systems. Gillian is an advocate for change.
