Josh is the UK education manager for the International Rescue Committee, looking after the Healing Classrooms, Healing Spaces and adult English language programmes.
Josh joined the IRC in early 2022 after serving two years in the Department for Education working closely with the Schools Minister on the Covid response and on significant reforms to Initial Teacher Training.
Josh’s background is in teaching, firstly in China and then as an assistant principal at a secondary school in Middlesbrough. In between Josh took up a consultancy role for a Dutch NGO and established and ran the first and only school in the Moria Refugee Camp on the island of Lesbos in Greece.
