Mary Morton
  • Bio

Mary has worked in the Safeguarding arena since 2003, setting up the ‘Looked after Children’ service and latterly working across Adult and Children Safeguarding. She was conscious of the effect working in this field was having on her own well-being so took the opportunity to conduct research as part of an MSc into the impact of safeguarding responsibilities on staff and then the role of managers in supporting practitioners. Mary is excited to be chairing such an important event where she hopes to share some of her own learning alongside our expert speakers. Mary lives in rural Powys which is a beautiful area of Wales, she has a family and is a passionate supporter of community activities.
