  • Bio

Mor Dioum, co-Founder and Director at VCF – The Victoria Climbié Foundation UK, continues to monitor and campaign for improvements in child protection policies and practices following the Victoria Climbié inquiry led by Lord Herbert Laming. Mor played a pivotal role in guiding Victoria’s parents, and thereafter to establish the organisation that he now leads, advocating for family inclusion and involvement in child protection processes and child death reviews. His longstanding advocacy work has been vital to securing justice for families, in racially motivated cases (including Stephen Lawrence) whilst working at The Monitoring Group. Mor has lobbied extensively for the rights of Black and minority ethnic (BME) children to be upheld alongside the dominant community. He took on leadership of the National Working Group on Child Abuse Linked to Faith (2014-2017), and a remit for national research to explore practitioner knowledge. Mor has an honorary doctorate from the University of East London, and is an Executive member of the BME-Migrant Advisory Group (B-MAG); Safeguarding Children and Young People.
