Neil is a Registered Mental Health Nurse with 36 years’ experience working in Secure services for adults with mental health and intellectual disabilities in the NHS. Neil has worked in different roles throughout his career including as a nurse, trainer and ending his career as a senior manager in a large, medium and low secure service. During his time as training manager in the NHS in early 2000, Neil successfully changed the entire training programme across the Trust from Control and Restraint to CPI. Neil also completed training to become a Local Security Management Specialist (LSMS) and worked as a Security Lead within the secure services department. A key aspect of this role was to create and maintain a balance between care and security.
