Patricia started her career as a healthcare assistant at a large mental health hospital in 2007 providing care for individuals with mental health diagnosis as well as intellectual disabilities.
Over the years Patricia worked in different capacities within the healthcare sector before making her transition into HR and L&D in 2019. Patricia joined the learning and development department of a large organisation, firstly as a learning technologies assistant and then as an Essential Skills Facilitator. She was able to facilitate trainings by combing her experiences on the ward and building on staffs existing knowledge and impacting new ones.
These opportunities of developing and delivering staff training enabled her to challenge “this is the way we’ve always done it” narrative within teams to encouraging best practice of being person-centred.
Patricia joined Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) in 2023 as the organisations’ values of Care, Welfare, Safety and Security resonated with her values as a person. She also values the fact that these are incorporated into all programs offered and delivered by the organisation.
