Professor Julia Verne BSc, MBBS, MSc. PhD, FFPH is a Consultant in Public Health Medicine with over 20 years’ experience working regionally, nationally and internationally and has a long standing interest in improving the quality of health services particularly for cancer patients and in end of life care. Julia is Head of Clinical Epidemiology for Public Health England (PHE) and Clinical Lead of PHE’s National End of Life Care Intelligence Network (NEoLCIN).
Since its establishment in June 2010 the NEoLCIN (www.endoflifecare-intelligence.org.uk) has been providing online interactive sources of data presented as profiles and has published 14 national reports on end of life care. She is co-author on a number of peer reviewed articles on end of life care.
Julia is a Visiting Professor at the University of the West of England in the Faculty of Business and Law and is currently studying for a second PhD entitled ‘Autonomy and Paternalism in End of Life Care for Elderly Patients’ at the University of Krakow, Poland.
