Becca Cooke is the Deputy Designated Nurse for Safeguarding People at NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB. This is a new bespoke safeguarding role which specialises in Transition for Young People, learning disabilities and autism, LeDeR, Care Leavers, Safeguarding Supervision, Safeguarding Training and Student Mentorship.
Becca is an experienced Registered BSc Paediatric Nurse, working in both NHS acute and community health care settings, spanning 27 years. Passionate about improving the quality of care and reducing inequalities Becca has been part of numerous innovative workstreams, including designing and leading a Haemoglobinopathy Transition Service for Young People.Becca is an accomplished National and International Presenter in the areas of Transition and Safeguarding Supervision. She is co-author for the safeguarding chapter in ‘A Textbook of Children’s Young People’s Nursing’ (2021).Currently completing a MSc in Safeguarding People at Birmingham City University, Becca also enjoys writing children stories for a local radio station.
