For the first time an NHS England-led strategic approach to designing mental health services for all ages, spanning the health and care system, will be published this autumn. The Mental Health Taskforce has been set up explore the variation in access to and quality of mental health services across England. Key remits are accessibility to services, breaking down the barriers in how care is provided and to consider ways to tackle the prevention of mental health problems and avoid crisis care.The five year plan represents the collective thoughts of key mental health leaders and organisations setting out a blueprint for the next five years with the intention to help mitigate current pressures and improve the quality of care. With a focus on integration and collaboration between services, this event will bring together key stakeholders from across the system to learn how new models of care can be better shaped around the needs of people.
