Prior to joining Mental Health Strategies, James Fitton spent 14 years in the English National Health Service, managing a wide range of mental health and learning disability services in urban and rural areas of the North West of England. For the past 15 years he has led and contributed to research and strategic projects within mental health services throughout England and beyond, working with national and government bodies, statutory and independent providers, and the voluntary sector. Throughout, he has taken a particular interest in evidence-based practice, both in clinical services, and in their organisation and management. James has also served as a Director of the National Institute for Mental Health in England, and as a trustee of several charities and social enterprises.
