Adrian Eggleton is Director & EFM Operation Lead at the NHS Estates and Facilities Efficiency & Productivity Division in NHS Improvement and is a Chartered Architect and Social Scientist. At the heart of his values are: people matter - building an NHS for people around people; safety – creating a safe environment for care, focusing on assurance; and driving efficiency through data governance to direct the appropriate use of resources.
Adrian has been working in the NHS for 19 years following a research career at the Estate Strategy Unit, Cardiff University before joining the NHS in 1999 at East Gloucestershire combined acute, community & mental Health Trust, initially as an academic on the Action on Cataracts Service Redesign Programme, then moving into Capital and Service Planning the following year. In 2008 he joined 2gether NHS Foundation Trust as Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities, where he has been until late 2018.
During his time in Gloucestershire he has redeveloped maternity services, centralising it in a new build at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital; specialised in Radiology projects, building on his research studies; and delivered on a 10 year capital programme, modernising the Mental Health estate in Gloucestershire to 100% en-suite single rooms and the delivery of an estate rationalisation into Locality Hubs improving operational efficiency, premises functionality age and condition and carbon footprint.
