Dr Rebecca Upsher
  • Bio

Dr Upsher started her journey at King's College London doing a master's in Health Psychology. After her master's placement in the Diabetes, Psychiatry & Psychology research group at King's, she started working in this group as a research assistant and shortly after became a PhD student there. Her PhD work involved developing a psycho-educational intervention to optimise insulin initiation in type 2 diabetes. Alongside her PhD she was a graduate teaching assistant for the Psychology department, which sparked an interest in teaching and student wellbeing. Since 2020, she has worked with Dr Nicola Byrom (KCL), Professor Juliet Foster (KCL) and Gareth Hughes (Derby) on research into how to support student wellbeing and learning within the curriculum at university.
