Dr. Sarah Wynick is Consultant Child Psychiatrist at the Tavistock Centre in London, where she had previously trained and where she has worked for most of the last three decades. She is Head of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust and Manager of its Family Mental Health Team. She has also managed three in-patient family and adolescent units (at the Cassel Hospital, at Simmons House, and at the Beacon). She trained in psychotherapy with children and adolescents at the Tavistock Clinic and now runs the United Kingdom’s only course for child psychiatrists in psychodynamic psychotherapy, accredited by the British Psychoanalytic Council. She qualified as a couple psychoanalytic psychotherapist at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships in 2014. She has a further interest in group psychotherapy, in family work, and in organisational consultancy, and she has directed Tavistock Group Relations Conferences for many years. She is trained in the “Parents as Partners” model and regularly runs groups for parental couples. She is registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council.
