Emma joined the Ann Craft Trust in May 2022 as head of the Safeguarding Adults in Sport Team. Prior to this appointment she was the safeguarding lead for a national governing body of sport for nearly 10 years.
A former safeguarding children tutor, Emma has also held safeguarding and volunteer management roles in two other governing bodies of sport and worked in disability sports development and facility management.

She has always been a keen advocate for safeguarding adults in sport, being a founder member of the Safeguarding Adults In Sport Strategic Partnership. The steering group first raised the issue of safeguarding adults in sport, eventually being successful with funding and now steers the Safeguarding Adults in Sport team which is hosted by the Ann Craft Trust.
The sports side of the charity has grown in a relatively short space of time but it remains committed to the values and ideals of the Ann craft Trust – a leading UK authority and national charity which exists to minimise the risk of abuse of disabled children and adults at risk.
