Phil Raws
  • Bio

Phil Raws is a Senior Researcher at The Children's Society leading a comprehensive research programme on neglect of adolescents in partnership with the University of York. His report Troubled Teens describes a new way to measure neglect and exposes the scale of neglectful parenting of teenagers in homes across the country. The report discusses our society's widespread failure to understand and respond to the lack of care and support that many teenagers receive. Phil first joined The Children's Society in 1999 to work on a landmark study of young runaways, Still Running. His recent work includes research focusing on children who are sexually exploited and young carers. Phil has a particular interest in applying research findings to developing practice or creating policy change.
