Sarah Johnston
  • Bio

Sarah’s experience spans the private, public and voluntary sectors at both an operational and strategic level. For the first part of her career Sarah specialised in social housing with roles including independent advisor on the largest stock transfer in Europe, Lead Advisor on the ODPM’s Community Housing Task Force, Head of Housing for Government Office South West (GOSW) and Regional Director for a large Housing Association. However along the way Sarah developed a passion for transformation and continuous improvement which led her to move away from housing towards organisational development. Most recently Sarah has been heading up the Change and Performance function for a large unitary where she worked alongside RedQuadrant to design and Deliver the Applied Service Redesign Programme. Previously Sarah was a Delivery Champion for central Government and is trained in many different tools and techniques including ‘More for Less’, LEAN, Agile and Outcomes Based Accountability. Rather than be a slave to any one approach Sarah specialises in blending different tools and techniques to find the right solution for the client. For Sarah it is all about the people and building capacity and capability within an organisation. Sarah is an alumni of the Leaders UK Programme (Ashridge Business School/National School of Government), has a degree in Psychology and Social Policy as well as a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning (when quizzed she cannot really explain how the Planning thing happened!). In her spare time Sarah likes to swim outside in all weathers!
