Annie Sayer is currently Deputy National Lead for the Directory of Services (DoS), with the NHS England National DoS team. She has been part of the NHS for over a decade and worked with a variety of services and professional groups. She is a subject matter expert on the NHS 111 Service Directory and is knowledgeable on how to manage patient referrals through to primary, urgent and emergency care services, and utilising appropriate resources such as pharmacy.

Prior to joining the Integrated Urgent Care Delivery Team at NHS England, she has held various local and regional positions in Essex, Cambridge and across the East of England. Early in her NHS career she led a project co-ordinating end of life care services to form a Single Point of Access, before moving on support the launch of the NHS 111 and Integrated Urgent Care services. 

Annie is passionate about getting patients through to the right service at the right time and believes that well-maintained service information will help facilitate service integration. She has a degree in Psychology and Sociology of Health and a Masters degree in Health Research, and appreciates how care impacts on both individual patients and the wider system. She is a trained Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) and in her spare time she is a committee member for her local Embroiders Guild who enjoys swimming and dressmaking.
