Child Bereavement UK supports families when a child dies or when a child is bereaved. We also train about 8000 professionals each year. Bereavement is a ubiquitous experience that impacts the mental and emotional wellbeing of many youngsters, often underlying more obvious mental health issues. We believe earlier interventions can prevent later recourse to costlier mental health services. Child Bereavement UK’s North Development Project is currently focusing on Manchester, Bradford, Middlesbrough and Wirral with the intention of collaborating with statutory and voluntary agencies to improve bereavement support and signposting to services.
